Powers: Is GOP Candidate Allegedly Body-Slamming Reporter ‘Tied Into’ Trump ‘Constantly Fomenting Rage Against Reporters?’

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “AC360,” USA Today columnist and CNN political analyst Kirsten Powers wondered if U.S. House candidate Greg Gianforte (R-MT) allegedly body-slamming Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs is “possibly tied into the fact that we have a president that’s constantly fomenting rage against reporters?”

Powers asked, “Isn’t it possibly tied into the fact that we have a president that’s constantly fomenting rage against reporters? I mean, is it possible that there’s some connection here?”

She added that there’s “no comparison to the way it is today than even a year ago, frankly, the absolute rage towards reporters.”
