On Friday’s “MSNBC Live,” Representative Gregory Meeks (D-NY) stated, “the things that I see this president doing now are the kinds of things that you have seen Putin do, and that’s a danger. I don’t want to live in a Russian society, or an authoritarian society. And that’s why an independent prosecutor is now needed more now than ever.”
Meeks said that President Trump “does not want to get to the bottom of” the Russia investigation, and “he may be covering it up. I mean, I’ve got real concerns about a cover-up here.”
He added, “This is real serious business. This is about our country and how we’re perceived. … We don’t operate this way. This is more like Russia would operate. This is — the things that I see this president doing now are the kinds of things that you have seen Putin do, and that’s a danger. I don’t want to live in a Russian society, or an authoritarian society. And that’s why an independent prosecutor is now needed more now than ever.”
