During an interview on Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that “many” NATO members “have to invest more in defense.” And that he would like NATO to do more to fight terrorism.
said that he was pleased with President Trump’s comments that NATO isn’t obsolete, and that they reflect the reality “NATO is adapting, when the world is changing.”
He added that NATO can do more to fighting terrorism, and “many allies have to invest more in defense.”
later said that NATO is involved in supporting fighting terrorism in Syria and Iraq, but that he agreed with President Trump that he would like NATO to do more.
Later in the interview, stated that he expects all NATO members will spend 2% of their GDP on defense within a decade.
