On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” Atlantic Council and Modern War Institute Fellow Max Brooks argued Democrats need to get their “FDR balls back” “because we’re not trying to negotiate with people like us, we’re negotiating with America’s Hamas.”
Host bill Maher read Representative Ted Lieu’s (D-CA) statement that “We may have an illegitimate President of the United States currently occupying the White House. Other than allowing routine governmental functions, there must be a total and complete shutdown of any agenda item being pushed by the Trump Administration.”
Brooks then said, “[W]hen are we going to get, as liberals, as Democrats, when are we going to get our FDR balls back, and when are we going to fight? Because trying to negotiate and hug it out is not working, and it doesn’t work, because we’re not trying to negotiate with people like us, we’re negotiating with America’s Hamas. And they respect strength and power and force, and that’s it.”
