Andrew Sullivan: Trump Uses ‘Truth Is Whatever I Say It Is’ ‘Technique of a Dictator’

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” New York Magazine Writer-at-Large Andrew Sullivan argued President Trump uses “the technique of a dictator. It’s a technique of a tyrant, which is this, the truth is whatever I say it is.”

Sullivan said Trump uses “the technique of a dictator. It’s a technique of a tyrant, which is this, the truth is whatever I say it is. Not only that, but my people, to humiliate them, have to go out and lie for me. That’s the test of loyalty. You see Sean Spicer going out there like an apparatchik in the Soviet Union.”
