During Sunday’s “The Cats Roundtable” on New York AM 970 radio, former DNC Chair and former Gov. Ed Rendell (D-PA) said that Democrats need to work with President Donald Trump to get an infrastructure deal done, adding that the proposed $1 trillion plan may not be sufficient.
“I believe very strongly that there can be [a deal made],” Rendell said to host John Catsimatidis.
“[W]hen the president is right about something, or moving in the right direction, we’ve got to work with him to try to get things done in this country,” he continued. “[W]e can’t put all of our challenges on hold for four years. It doesn’t work. And the infrastructure of this country is collapsing, as we talk on Sunday morning.”
Rendell later stated, “And give Donald Trump credit. He talks about a trillion dollar infrastructure program. Now, that’s actually a little too little. The American Society of Civil Engineers…they say we need about a $2 trillion additional investment, on top of what we plan to spend now, in the next 10 years, to get the American infrastructure up to a B, not to an A, but up to a B.”
