Sunday, Rep. Dan Donovan (R-NY) had a message for New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) on New York AM 970 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable” after he vowed to keep New York City a sanctuary city.
“You can’t pick and choose which [laws] you’re going to enforce, and which ones you’re not going to enforce,” Donovan told host John Catsimatidis. “Not enforcing the federal immigration laws is going to cost people, because the president and the administration says, if you’re not going to enforce our laws, we’re certainly not going to send you federal monies if you’re not enforcing our laws. So, in the end run, this might hurt New Yorkers in two ways: One, losing their federal money. And two, by not enforcing our federal laws.”
