On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” Senator Al Franken (D-MN) argued that the Supreme Court pick that President Trump used to nominate Judge Neil Gorsuch was stolen.
Franken said, “[W]e’re going to have hearings. I think this guy — I don’t want another 5-4 conservative activist judiciary that is — that votes to — Citizens United and that. So, I — this guy is going to have to overcome a huge bar for me.”
Host Bill Maher then asked, “Okay, but isn’t it not about the qualifications, but about the fact that that pick was stolen?”
Franken answered, “It was. I agree with you.” He added that because Republicans have the majority, there are going to be hearings.
