On Friday’s broadcast of “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks stated that with the transition from President Obama to President-Elect Trump is “a complete bifurcation between two wrong Israel policies.”
Brooks said the Obama administration’s position is “completely indefensible” and is casting all the blame on Israel. He added, “And it seems to me myopic and bizarre that at the last moment, the Obama administration would surrender the whole balanced array of policies that are obstacles to peace and focus on the one that is most detrimental to Israel.”
He further stated that Trump’s potential administration is “apparently is pro-settlement, and almost against a two-state solution. … And so, what we’re seeing is a complete bifurcation between two wrong Israel policies.”
