During an interview with KNPR on Wednesday, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) defended his claim that Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes by saying it was “necessary” and “the truth.”
Reid was asked if his “brazen lie” about Romney had contribute to the rise of fake news. He responded, “[T]here were no brazen lies. What I said is the truth. Mitt Romney refused, and has still refused to release his tax returns. … I did what was necessary. He fought even giving those two years, that are meaningless, because he was already running for president, and all of his financial dealings where he became an extremely wealthy man, we were unable to see any of that.”
