Per a WBTV report, a man in Gaston County, NC called into Walmart wanting to buy a large amount of toys to donate to needy children.
“When I took the initial call from the gentleman, he said he wanted to come in and spend some time picking out toys,” Walmart General Manager Michael McDaniel told WBTV.
McDaniel said store employees helped the man pick out $30,000 worth of toys, which barely fit into the back of a 53-foot 18-wheeler.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, was put in touch with Gaston County DSS, who arranged the $30,000 worth of toys to be distributed to children in need on Christmas morning.
Monday, Walmart employees loaded more than six pallets of toys onto a truck and a police escort transported it all to the DSS office in Gastonia.
Two large rooms are currently filled with enough toys to help more than 500 families this Christmas.
