During the Tuesday broadcast of Fox Sports 1’s “The Herd,” host Colin Cowherd weighed in on the current state of College Football’s Big 10 Conference, likening fans for Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State to Presidential-elect Donald Trump, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Hillary Clinton and Jill Stein.
Cowherd argued that all of the teams had good seasons, but, like the 2016 presidential candidates, are undeserving of any notoriety, but supporters of each think “they’re the only viable candidates.”
“You know what Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan fans have become? Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump supporters. All three are absolutely sure they’re the only viable candidates. And the truth is, none of them are great candidates. And Wisconsin, you’re Jill Stein. You want a recount. Let’s be honest, Bernie Sanders was a small state socialist. Free college for everybody! That’s ridiculous. Hillary Clinton basically hid from the media for a year. Didn’t go to Wisconsin. That’s ridiculous. And Donald Trump is Donald Trump. Mostly ridiculous. These were not good candidates. these were not all-timers,” Cowherd explained.
“Memo to all of the top three teams in the Big 10, memo to Bernie, Hillary and Trump supporters: hell of a year, but don’t kid yourself. None of you have a great standing, a referendum, absolutely deserve to be in [the College Football Playoff].”
