On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” former Representative Barney Frank (D-MA) argued President-Elect Donald Trump is “almost an accidental president, who’s advocating, in fact, a lot of things that go against what he said.”
Frank argued Trump’s tweet about outlawing flag-burning was a diversion from Trump’s “ridiculous claim, without any evidence whatsoever” that millions of people voted illegally, and that Trump “takes office as the president did worse in the popular vote.” Frank further argued that Trump was also distracting from the fact that he won’t be able to do many of the things he promised.
He added that Trump has to “find some way to take attention away from the fact that he is a minority president, almost an accidental president, who’s advocating, in fact, a lot of things that go against what he said.”
