In an essay for Fox Sports 1’s “Speak for Yourself,” co-host Jason Whitlock discussed Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans protesting Donald Trump’s election, as well as NBA coaches Stan Van Gundy, Gregg Popovich and Steve Kerr for their criticisms of the president-elect.
Whitlock says sports celebrities should question why Democrats have ignored the working class people and have been “fanning the flames of racial division instead of criticizing Trump.”
“Rather than blasting Trump, the establishment elite and sports spokesmen and spokeswomen need to be asking themselves why the establishment has spent three decades ignoring the concerns of the working class middle America and fanning the flames of racial division. Those mistakes created the Trump phenomenon.”
