Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway went after host Jake Tapper for attempting to “besmirch” millions of Trump supporters by bringing up one anti-Semitic man shooting at a Trump rally over the weekend.
After Tapper played a clip of the man, Conway said, “His conduct is completely unacceptable and does not reflect our campaign or our candidate. Wow, I have to push back on some of the adjectives you used to describe. I hope you have been to Trump rally. You see tens of thousand, over half a million people easily, no, in excess of that, at his rallies, and these are USA-loving Americans who just want their country to be prosperous and safe again.”
She continued, “You just suggested we’re filled with all the other isms and I think that is incredibly unfair.”
She added, “Please if you do anything don’t besmirch the good hearts and values of the tens of thousands, the millions of Donald Trump supporters who, frankly, just love this country.”
