Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough said he was skeptical Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will be able to replicate the excitement President Barack Obama was able to generate during his 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns.
However, he said if there is a huge turnout as Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook has claimed, then it will be a big win for Clinton.
“Here’s the thing – again, we’re two weeks out,” Scarborough said. “It’s two weeks from today, right? Yeah, that’s number one. Number two, its 2016 — one of the most tumultuous years yet. And number three, we’ve seen polls go up and down and up and down, wildly. I am not saying this race is over, and it’s just hard — I mean, I am not saying that Donald trump has a great chance of winning this race, and we’re two weeks out.
“I don’t think it’s going to be as good for Hillary Clinton,” he continued. “And I could be wrong. Robby Mook says it is going to be better than ’08 and ’12,” he continued. “If that’s the case, then that’s massive. It will be a remarkable win if Robby is right … I just yesterday think I saw something the Congressional Black Caucus was saying – if you want us to get excited, because we’re not excited right now. But if you want us to get excited, then you’re going to have to start talking to us. I find it hard to believe they’re going to be able to find the excitement that Obama had in ’08 and ’12.”
