CNN’s Cuomo: Clinton’s Email Conduct Isn’t a Mistake, It’s ‘An Intentional Choice, And Series of Choices By Clinton’

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” anchor Chris Cuomo argued that Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email conduct wasn’t a mistake, it was “an intentional choice, and series of choices by Clinton.”

Representative Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) stated that Clinton’s low trustworthiness numbers and the attacks on her were “Totally without cause.” And that Clinton “made a mistake and has acknowledged it.”

Cuomo then countered, “That’s the cause, Congressman. The email server, her choice. Wrong, arguably illegal. Her choice, cause. Not without cause.”

Jeffries then stated, “Well, she made a mistake. She’s she acknowledged it. It certainly wasn’t illegal. We’ve the FBI under the leadership of James Comey, who is a Republican, acknowledged that she did nothing wrong in terms of criminality.”

Cuomo said, “Comey started off as a Republican. Maybe. I don’t know what his politics are, but he was put there, at the FBI, by a Democratic administration. And a mistake is when I hit my cup, and I knock it over and Alisyn says, ‘Not again, you’re an idiot.’ When you choose to have a server in your basement, not a mistake. When you say you got approval for it, and you did not, not a mistake. When you’re told to cull emails, and you do it in a way that is self-serving, not a mistake.”

Cuomo further argued that “emails are not a mistake. They were an intentional choice, and series of choices by Clinton.”
