Howard Dean: ‘Somebody’ Made FBI Quid Pro Quo Docs Up, ‘Not One’ Hillary Scandal Has Been Proved

On Monday’s broadcast of “MSNBC Live,” former Governor Howard Dean (D-VT) responded to documents alleging the State Department had an email on Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s server unclassified in a quid pro quo with the FBI by arguing “somebody made this up.” He further argued, “Not one single scandal that Hillary Clinton’s been…accused of has ever, ever been proved.”

Dean said, “This sounds like nothing. Who’s saying this? This is nothing. This is the last batch — couple of batches of emails have revealed exactly nothing. Now who is pushing this notion that there was a quid pro quo at the State Department?”

He added, “This is — somebody made this up. This is innuendo, leaked by the Russians for their own political –.”

Anchor Thomas Roberts then pushed back, “This is not WikiLeaks.” After Dean responded, “Is it [Representative] Jason Chaffetz’s (R-UT) stuff?” Roberts stated, “This is an unnamed FBI official, who’s made these documents, alleging that Patrick Kennedy — of wrongdoing, that he was trying to help influence what was taking place between the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s State Department.”

Dean stated, “This makes no sense to me at all. This sounds like late in the campaign tricks that are meaningless. This is — there’s no there, there, where — I don’t understand where the there is. … This is crazy. ”

He added, after naming Whitewater, Vince Foster, and the “conspiracy theory that somehow Clinton donations ended up going to the Russians to help them put a nickel mine in Canada.” “This is all nonsense. This stuff’s been going on for 30 years. Not one single scandal that Hillary Clinton’s been…accused of has ever, ever been proved.”
