Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch weighed in on Colin Kaepernick’s national anthem protest earlier this week on TBS’s “Conan,” and told host Conan O’Brien that he would rather see Kaepernick take a knee during the national anthem than get murdered with his hands up in the air.
“With what’s going on, I’d rather see [Kaepernick] take a knee than stand up, put his hands up and get murdered,” the former Seattle Seahawk said.
He later added, “If you’re really not racist, then you won’t see what he’s doing as a threat to America, but just addressing a problem that we have.”
