In an interview on Fox Sports 1’s “The Herd,” longtime Los Angeles Dodgers announcer Vin Scully told host Colin Cowherd that he plans to just enjoy life for as long he is allowed once he retires at the end of this season.

Scully, who has spent 67 years with the Dodgers, said his retirement will not only include spending time with his family, but also reading and perhaps watching a flower grow.

“When you retire at 89, the only answer to ‘What are you going to do?’ is ‘I’m going to try to live.’ I have 16 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a wife I adore — I want to live, with them. So that’s really my answer. What actually the definition of live? Well, it’s going to be reading a lot because I love to read and I will have the time. And just watch a flower grow, I don’t know, but I’m just going to enjoy life the best I can for as long as I’m allowed to enjoy it.”
