Friday on CNN, network chief national correspondent John King reacted to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s appearance at his new hotel in Washington, DC.
The event had been teased as one that would address Trump’s view on President Barack Obama’s birthplace, to which he ultimately did address but after a number of military heroes expressed their support for Trump.
“I really don’t know what quite to make of that except that we got played, again, by the Trump campaign, which is what they do,” King said. “He got a live event broadcast for some 20 minutes. Kate, you were keeping. And Jake is absolutely right — we should all have great reverence and respect for those military heroes who are now making a political choice, just like the military heroes that made a different political choice to support Hillary Clinton.”
