Clinton Fdn President Shalala: ‘No Evidence That Policy Was Impacted By Anyone Requesting an Appointment’

Thursday on CNN’s “New Day,” Clinton Foundation president Donna Shalala, also the former secretary of Health and Human Services, denied that requesting “courtesy appointments” impacted policy in anyway while Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was secretary of state.

Shalala touted the work the organization had done in the past and said the work must continue, but it wouldn’t be under the Clinton Foundation’s umbrella if Clinton is elected president.

“There’s no evidence that policy was impacted by anyone requesting an appointment,” Shalala said. “So let me dispute any indication that’s Mrs. Clinton’s behavior on policy was changed in any way. The most important thing is this is a magnificent foundation that has reinvent philanthropy, from Malawi to Haiti we’re doing spectacular work and we have to make sure that work continues, but not under the Clinton Foundation’s umbrella.”
