A robotic device helped a man who normally needs a wheelchair stand next to his bride at the altar on Saturday, a 6 ABC report states.
Steve Jabari suffered a brain aneurysm six years ago, which has affected his mobility and speech.
Thanks to Tek Robotics, Jabari was able to stand next to his bride, Annetta Bryant.
“This is the most overwhelmingly exciting moment of my entire life,” Bryant said. “I actually almost fainted because we’ve been wanting this for a couple years when it was prototyped.”
The device lifts the user from underneath when standing, allowing Jabari to stand without using any muscles. Jabari just had to operate a joystick to move.
Jabari’s entrance drew a great response from the crowd.
Bryant then joined Jabari on stage and the two shared a kiss before the ceremony.
The Tek Robotic Mobilization Device costs more than $20,000. The newlyweds started a GoFundMe page to collect enough funds needed to buy Jabari his own mobility device.
