Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich stated that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is down to two VP selections, him and Indiana Governor Mike Pence (R) on the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” on Wednesday.
Gingrich said Trump is “clearly, I think, is down to two.” Gingrich then turned praised another prospective VP, Mike Pence, and that Trump has two “good,” but “different choices.”
He added that Pence can bring the party together, and would re-assure those uncertain about Trump, while he is an “outsider.”
Gingrich later said, “Look, in many ways, Donald Trump is like a pirate. He’s outside the normal system, he gets things done. He’s bold. He’s actually like a figure out of a movie. And in a lot of ways, my entire career has been a little like a pirate. I’ve taken on the establishment in both parties. I’ve been very prepared to fight in the media.” He continued that Trump would have to decide if he wanted a “two-pirate” ticket.
