Tuesday on CNN’s “New Day,” publishing executive and two-time presidential candidate Steve Forbes was asked to predict who he thought might be likely pick to be presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump running mate in this fall’s presidential election.
Forbes acknowledged he would be supporting Trump, but would not commit to one particular candidate, including the five CNN indicated were front-runners for the slot – former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN), Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.
“I’m not sure it’s going to be any of them,” he said. “You could have Rob Portman emerge. You could have Mitch Daniels, the presidential of Purdue University, the former governor of Indiana emerge. And you could have Nikki Haley emerge. He hasn’t made his mind up yet, so I don’t know who he is going to pick.”
