Jamil Smith: We Need to Stop the Lionization of Police

Saturday, on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” MTV News Senior National Correspondent Jamil Smith said that we need to stop the “lionization” of police on while discussing presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s response to the Dallas shooting on police officers.

“I think, frankly, look, the one thing that Donald Trump needed to not do, was to inflame the situation, which is normally what he does,” Smith explained. “So, in that — with that statement, yes, there were facts wrong. Yes, there was a lionization of the police, which we need to get — you know, really stop doing.”
