On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Mark Zaid, an attorney specializing in national security law, stated that, “I’ve had numerous clients that have lost their clearances and their federal employment for doing far, far less than what’s at issue” in the case involving presumptive Democratic presidental nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.
When asked about the odds of Clinton’s aides, such as Cheryl Mills or Huma Abedin getting security clearances in the future, said, “Based on what FBI Director Comey said, I think they’re going to have an uphill battle. I can tell you, in [the] over 20 years I’ve been handling security clearance cases, I’ve had numerous clients that have lost their clearances and their federal employment for doing far, far less than what’s at issue here.”
