Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski along with show regulars Mark Halperin, Mike Barnicle and Willie Geist criticized Attorney General Loretta Lynch for conducting a meeting with former President Bill Clinton while his wife is being investigated for her use of a private server while secretary of state.
Scarborough called the meeting “extraordinarily bad judgment” on the part of Lynch, saying it was “beyond optics.”
Halperin offered the panelist a benefit of the doubt but said the it wasn’t reasonable given the circumstances. Brzezinski dismissed notion they were talking about anything other than the investigation.
“She’s the Democratic attorney general and he’s the former Democratic president,” Halperin said. “Perfectly reasonable to talk: except under these circumstances. She shouldn’t have let him on the plane, he shouldn’t have wanted to get on the plane. I understand they’re friends, they have a lot to talk about.”
“No, there’s nothing else to talk about but the one thing,” Brzezinski replied.
