Harry Reid: I Appreciate the ‘Direction’ Sanders Has Pushed Democrats

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) sat down with MSNBC’s Joy Reid for an interview, and Harry Reid praised self-identified”Democratic socialist” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for pushing Democrats.

“I admire Bernie Sanders,” Harry Reid said. “I appreciate the direction that he’s helped push us as Democrats. I have a lot of positive things to say about Senator Sanders. But again, I believe that people around him need to be more positive about what his contribution can be and should be. I think he has the ability now to be a voice in what’s going on in the country, and especially when — he’s coming back to the senate, and I think that he has the ability to be a tremendously more powerful senator in our caucus than he was. He was no patsy to begin with, but he can be something much more than what he was.”
