Lenny Dykstra: How Can MLB Hall of Fame Leave Out Rose, Bonds and Clemens?

Former Major League Baseball All-Star outfielder Lenny Dykstra spoke Tuesday on Fox Sports 1’s “The Herd” about the sport’s Hall of Fame.

Dykstra explained how everyone in the league was taking amphetamines in the 1980s, and questioned what the threshold is to allow players in the MLB Hall of Fame, which is missing, as Dykstra put it, the three best players to play the game in Barry Bonds, Pete Rose and Roger Clemens.

“We’re all taking amphetamines [in the 1980s]. Come on, that’s my issue with the Hall of Fame. How can the three best players in baseball not be in the Hall of Fame? Ever. I’m talking about the three best players to play the game; Bonds, Pete Rose and Clemens. What’s the threshold?” he asked. “When it comes to on the field, the Hall of Fame’s about playing the game of baseball.”
