Columnist Charles Krauthammer stated that if the recent stories by the Washington Post and New York Times on presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump are “the best” they “can do trying to create scandal around Donald Trump, it’s time to plan for the inauguration” on Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Special Report.”
Krauthammer said [relevant remarks begin around 4:30] the Post‘s story about Trump pretending to a publicist to talk himself up back in the ’90s wasn’t important and “part of the Teflon around Trump is that it is not a story. It’s dead. it’s been overridden by the next story, the one you were talking about, the one in the Times. It looks at if the Times had 50 interviews, spent a lot of money and time, knew it really didn’t have a story…there was nothing scandalous about it. If this is the best that the Times and the press can do trying to create scandal around Donald Trump, it’s time to plan for the inauguration.”
