The Texas Rangers had payback on their minds for this weekend’s series with the Toronto Blue Jays.
In Game 5 of the 2015 ALDS, Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista angered the Rangers when he unleashed one of the biggest bat flips of all time after a clutch home run.
On Sunday, Rangers pitcher Matt Bush plunked Bautista with a 98 mph fastball as payback for showing up the team last year.
With Bautista on first, Blue Jays first baseman Justin Smoak hit what would have been an inning-ending double play, but Bautista over slid second base.
Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor confronted Bautista over his late slide, and eventually delivered a vicious right hook square into Bautista’s jaw. Benches then cleared. Multiple players, including Bautista and Odor, were ejected for their parts in the brawl.
