Saturday on MSNBC, Joy Reid, who was anchoring the 10 a.m. ET hour on the network, took on Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL), a candidate for U.S. Senate in Florida, over an ethics investigation into Grayson’s hedge fund.
Grayson has been accused of failing disclose his finances and business deals with the federal government. Reid presented documents that she insisted laid out these allegations. Grayson argued the documents were not legitimate.
“It looks to me like it’s a performance report prepared by a third party,” Grayson said. “Listen, show me one person who actually ever received that document before you call it marketing.”
Reportedly, outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (R-NV) and Grayson had a heated encounter over those allegation earlier in the week, with Reid telling Grayson he wanted him to lose his bid for the Democratic Party’s nod for the U.S. Senate seat soon to be vacated by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL).
Grayson went on to accuse Joy Reid of employing the same “smears” as Harry Reid.
“You are just coming up with one lie after another, after another, after another,” he added. “Could you at least get your facts right before you try to slight me on national TV? Is that asking too much?”
