Clift: Iraq’s Government ‘Collapsing,’ Overriding Message Is ‘America Should Not Get More Deeply Involved’

The Daily Beast’s Eleanor Clift stated Iraq’s government is “collapsing” and “struggling within itself,” and the overriding message is that”America should not get more deeply involved” on Friday’s “McLaughlin Group.”

Clift said, “Iraq is struggling within itself, because the government is collapsing, and you have the Sunni-Shiite divide and all of these conflicts. And so, I think if there’s an overriding message here, it’s that America should not get more deeply involved, and I think the president is trying to hold that line so he does not hand his successor a worse situation than what he was handed.”
