ABC host George Stephanopoulos stated that Democratic presidential candidate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s loss in West Virginia to rival candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is “bogging her campaign down” on Wednesday’s broadcast of “Good Morning America.”
Stephanopoulos said, “Bernie Sanders cannot catch up, can’t get 98% of the delegates, and the Clinton team’s explaining away this loss in West Virginia, but it is bogging her campaign down.”
ABC News Senior National Correspondent Cecilia Vega added that while the nomination is “still really far away” from Sanders, and the Clinton campaign says “they did not advertise in West Virginia. They say the demographics favor him there, but the reality is, she’s got a real problem going forward. She’s had a hard time winning over white working class voters, George, and that as you know, is a group that Donald Trump has done especially well with.”
