Report: Teacher Forced Kids to Stick Heads in Bucket of Urine, Parents Claim

Parents in King William, VA are upset after finding out their children were “exposed to bodily fluids,” NBC 12 reports.

Shawn Martin said his second grader came home from Cool Spring Primary School complaining about a bad day at school where his teacher forced him and the other male students in his class to stick their heads in a bucket of urine.

“I don’t understand how anybody would make a child do that,” said Martin. “It is unacceptable.”

His son told him that one of the students urinated in a toy bucket at school, and the teacher made the male students smell the urine to tell the teacher who they thought was the culprit.

“She made every male student smell the urine in the bucket… stick their head in the bucket, smell the urine and give their opinion from the smell of the urine which child urinated in the bucket,” Martin added.

King Williams reportedly sent home notes to parents that warned parents their children may have been “exposed to bodily fluids.

According to parents, the teacher has 26 years of teaching experience. School officials say the teacher is still on the job.

The school released this statement:

“This is a personnel matter. Appropriate action has been taken to ensure that such conduct does not repeat itself. We will have no further comment.”

Martin is not pleased with the school’s statement, however.

“I don’t think anything is appropriate. That lady was in there teaching my son today,” Martin told NBC 12. “I don’t understand how the administration lets her come back and direct those kids.”

Martin filed a formal complaint. He says the school gave him the option to move his child to another classroom, which he says is punishing the wrong person.
