Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” National Journal’s Ron Fournier pointed to the high disapproval polling numbers for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton and likely presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, at 55 percent and 65 percent respectively, which according to “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough is a sign that it could be time for an independent third-party candidate.
“If you’ve got one person with 65 percent disapproval rating and another with a 55 [percent], isn’t now the time for an independent third-party run?” Scarborough said. “If you’ve got two people that the majority of Americans disagree with?”
Fournier replied it was too late, especially since given today was a deadline to get on the ballot in the Texas general election, which required 80,000 signatures.
