Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Joe Scarborough discussed the ongoing controversy surrounding Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email server during her tenure as secretary of state and what that means to her contest with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Scarborough said some in the intelligence community have told him if they had handled classified information in the manner Clinton had, they’d be facing prison time.
“I mean, you talk to people at intel community and they say anybody else would be in prison right now,” Scarborough said. “If they’d mishandled classified — talk to anybody in the intelligence community that’s been doing this for 20 years, they will all say, if anybody mishandled classified information that way, that he would be in jail right now.”
Scarborough called on the FBI and the Department of Justice to make a determination one way or another on what action it would take regarding Clinton so that Democrats would have some certainty regarding their nominee.
“Come on, FBI,” he added. “Wake up.”
