DNC Chair Wasserman Schultz: I Don’t Think Any of Hillary’s Aides Will Be Indicted

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet The Press” the Chair of the Democratic National Committee Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) refused to answer if a top aide for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is indicted should they be fired, instead insisting ” I don’t think that that’s going to happen.”

Partial transcript as follows:

HUGH HEWITT, TALK SHOW HOST: Let me ask you something that didn’t come up in the cow bell debate on Thursday. After Lewandowski was charged, many Democrats and Republicans said of Donald Trump’s campaign manager he should be fired and he wasn’t. If any of Secretary Clinton’s aides are indicted in the FBI server investigation, should they be fired? Should the same standard be applied?

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ:  That’s a question I’m not going to go near. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Our nominee will ultimately be elected president of the United States because we are on the side of the American people and ultimately.

HEWITT: It’s not about whether or not it’s going to happen. It’s about the standard. If a senior aide is ever indicted in the campaign as Mr. Lewandowski was, should they be fired immediately?”

WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: Again, I don’t think that that’s going to happen, so it’s not a question that is one that I think makes sense to answer. I’m focused on making sure that when we get to the end of our primary we’re preparing for the general election and we can and will elect our nominee the 45th president of the United States.
