HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher and comedian Kathy Griffin stated that they like the South and flyover states, in part because, “They’re not politically correct” on Friday.
Maher said, “Politicians always call it the flyover states. I say, I land in them.” And “I love the South.”
Griffin then stated, “They come to laugh, and they make the drive.”
Maher continued, “They’re not politically correct, and also, you know what I love, is people write off the South like it’s all a bunch of hicks, and in the cities, I don’t know about Thackerville [Oklahoma], they’re not hicks. And they deserve the respect that we don’t write them all off.” A point Griffin agreed with.
