Wednesday on NBC’s “Today,” “Meet the Press” moderator discussed the delegate math following Tuesday Wisconsin presidential primaries won by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on the GOP side and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on the Democratic side.
Todd explained that it continues to be increasingly difficult for Sanders to secure the nomination over his rival Hillary Clinton despite winning Wisconsin. He also said Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump also has an obstacle to overcome since he needs to win 58 percent of the remaining delegates, to which Todd predicted a high likelihood of a contested convention.
“If you look now, I think we’re at a pretty — a 70 percent chance of a contested convention,” he said.
