Shortly after taking down the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was asked if this would be the end of his long, successful career.
Manning remained mum on an announcement, saying he wanted to think it over instead of making an emotional decision.
“I got some good advice from Tony Dungy, who’s going into the Hall of Fame and my old coach. He said, ‘Don’t make an emotional decision.’ This has been an emotional week and an emotional night. I’ve got a couple priorities in order. I wanna go kiss my wife, kiss my kids; I wanna go celebrate with my family and teammates. And I’m going to drink a lot of beer tonight, Jim. Budweiser. Von Miller is buying. Those are my priorities at this point. I’ll take some time to reflect on the other. But, I’m going to say a prayer and a thank you to the Man upstairs for this opportunity for sure as well.”
