TEL AVIV – In its latest glorification of terrorism, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement took to Twitter to urge Palestinians to take up their weapons and become martyrs in the struggle against the Israeli enemy, Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reported.
Fatah’s official Twitter account published a tweet that read, “My devotion is to Allah… my sacrifices are for Palestine… and my loyalty is to the Martyrs,” accompanied by an image of a masked man holding a rifle.
The text on the image, ostensibly from a dead terrorist, read: “If I fall, take my weapon/ O, companion in the struggle/ Carry my weapon and do not fear my blood dripping from the weapon/ I have not died, I am still calling you from behind the wounds.”
The tweet followed a promise made by Fatah Revolutionary Council member Hassan Shtewi that the families of “heroic martyrs” who carry out acts of terror “which greatly terrify the occupation” will be taken care of by the Palestinian leadership.
In another instance of glorification, official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida published a filmed interview with the mother and two sisters of Muhammad Nazmi Shamasneh, a terrorist who was killed by Israeli forces after he stabbed three people. Shamasneh also choked and stabbed an Israeli soldier while he attempted to steal the soldier’s weapon on a bus.
Both sisters expressed their desire to follow Shamasneh’s example and become martyrs.
“By Allah, we will trample your heads, Israel,” one sister warned.
“You think that my brother’s blood will not be avenged? By Allah, I will not sit silently. I will die as a martyr. All of my sisters will die as martyrs,” she added, saying she was happy her brother was a martyr.
