TEL AVIV – An official from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party claimed that Hitler was not morally corrupt, he was daring, Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reported.
After Fatah leader and Central Committee Member Tawfiq Tirawi made his remarks on independent Ma’an TV on January 16, the host stopped the interview, saying, “Let’s drink some tea and take a break. It would be a pity to be put in jail because of this interview.” The clip of the exchange can be seen below:

Tiwari was making the point that an officer is duty-bound to check whether or not his leader is morally corrupt. In response, the interviewer questioned how one could know the character of their leader, and gave the Germans as an example, stating that they did not know that Hitler was morally corrupt.
Tiwari interrupts the host and says, “He was not morally corrupt.”
The host continues by giving examples of the attitudes towards European leaders like Charles de Gaulle and Winston Churchill before Tirawi again repeats his earlier assertion:
“Let us talk logically. Hitler was not morally corrupt. He was daring,” Tiwara says.
The Ma’an host answers, “Is that the way to talk? I say: Let’s drink some tea and take a break. It would be a pity to be put in jail because of this interview. We will drink tea and take a break. Let’s leave Hitler.”
The Palestinian Authority and Fatah have a history of glorifying Hitler, including praising him in children’s publications. The greatly revered Arab leader of British Palestine, the Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini, was a strong ally of Hitler and urged Muslims to fight alongside the Nazis.
