Monday on “Fox Sports Live,” Fox Sports 1 analyst Clay Travis reacted to the report Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel missed a scheduled medical exam, did not answer his phone and may have spent his Saturday night drinking and gambling in Las Vegas under a fake name and disguise.
Travis suggested Manziel, who has been an off-field headache for the Browns since they drafted him in 2014, could be purposefully not answering calls and missing meetings because he has spoken with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about playing in his home state, rather than Ohio.
“I think [Manziel] is doing it on purpose, conspiracy theory. I think he is doing this because how many people with jobs don’t answer the call the entire day from their boss if you want that job? You just don’t do that. Doesn’t it kind of make sense in a twisted way that this Johnny Manziel’s way, maybe Jerry Jones came up to him and said, ‘I’ll pick you up, get you in Dallas, you can sit behind Romo, you are only 22, don’t you want to be a star in the state of Texas?'”
