Columnist Charles Krauthammer attacked the DHS for its “incomprehensible” policies on reviewing the social media posts of people trying to come into the US on Thursday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel.
Krauthammer said of the DHS’ lack of vetting of the social media posts of those who want to enter the US, “it’s also incomprehensible. The idea that we’re now starting up a couple of pilot programs, on what the American people understand, and is so obvious to do. You simply give a directive that where you think it’s appropriate, you allow any immigration officer to investigate the postings on you know, public media. The argument against it, which apparently prevailed a few years ago, within DHS, is ridiculous. Number one, is that we don’t want to invade their privacy. Well, it’s absurd to say that looking at a public posting, as an invasion of privacy, and it’s doubly absurd if that’s done in the case of a non-American, outside the country, who possesses zero constitutional rights.”
