A report by WFSB says students from East Catholic High School in Manchester, CT recently released a video calling for a stop to “prayer-shaming.”
Because of the recent mass shootings, students are encouraging all people to pray for the victims and for peace.
The video, which has since gone viral, shows students holding up signs that question why God and public prayer have not played a bigger part in the healing process of recent tragedies like the San Bernardino, CA shooting that resulted in the deaths of 14 people. The students then call for the nation to bring God “back into our lives.”
“Being thousands of miles from San Bernardino or maybe not being able to stand next to someone who has experienced tragedy today, prayer is a way that our community comes together and shares our commitment to peace,” said Jason Hartling, principal of East Catholic High School. “It allows our students to feel connected and that their actively working towards the betterment of society.”
