After Texas Longhorns cornerback Duke Thomas intercepted a pass by Baylor Bears wide receiver-turned-quarterback Lynx Hawthorne Saturday, Thomas was tackled out of bounds by Hawthorne. It appears as if Hawthorne was unaware that Thomas stepped out and he continued to wrestle him down to the ground.
The Longhorns’ sideline took offense to the late hit and surrounded Hawthorne on the ground. Safety Kevin Vaccaro even fell on top of Hawthorne and the Baylor players ran over to protect their quarterback.
This led to the entire Baylor team coming across the field for a brief pushing and shoving match.
Only Vaccaro was punished once order was restored to the field.
Texas ended up defeating the 12th-ranked Bears 23-17.
