NFL on Fox analyst and nine-time Pro Bowler John Lynch was asked Monday on Fox Sports 1’s “The Herd” if the sentiment in Denver is that star quarterback Peyton Manning is holding on for too long.
The 39-year-old Broncos QB has led his team to a 7-2 record as the starter, giving way to backup Brock Osweiler Sunday while he battles a plantar fascia injury.
Osweiler fared well against the Chicago Bears Sunday in his first ever NFL start, which has many people in Denver feeling like Manning needs to call it quits, according to Lynch. a former Bronco.
“If you read the papers today, they’ve named [Osweiler] the guy moving forward, ‘Peyton, thanks for everything you’ve done, and we’ll see you,'” Lynch stated.
