Former Denver Broncos corner back Champ Bailey appeared as a guest on Fox Sports 1’s “The Herd” and brought up former teammate Tim Tebow as someone who was bad in practice settings, but good on game day.
Bailey explained that Tebow had to get in a rhythm to be a good passer, but he did add that when it came to game day, Tebow was a “gamer.”
“[Tebow] was not great in practice. When you tell the scout team to back off of a guy, let him make some plays, make some throws, that’s not a good practice player. Most players in practice want to be challenged like it’s a game,” he stated. “When it was game time, you didn’t know what to expect because he didn’t practice well all week. But this guy’s a gamer and he’d just turn it on in games.”
